Michael lead the way up the stairs to his second floor apartment and dug out his keys when they approached his door. "I don't think it's all that messy, but no promises. It's the maid's year off," he joked with a smirk over his shoulder. "I dusted a few months ago, so it might not be that bad."
He opened the locks and pushed open the door, indicating that Eli should go ahead into the apartment before closing the door behind them.
After a quick look around, he sighed a little in relief. At least he'd remembered to clean up the kitchen when he'd gotten home from work so his breakfast dishes weren't still sitting there. That was, he thought, something.

Most of Michael's warnings about the state of his apartment fall on deaf ears. Because Eli is scooping out the place as soon as he walks inside, looking for what, he isn't sure exactly. Maybe just wanting to see where Michael spends most of his time, if it looks the way he imagined it. It's tidy, maybe not Eli's kind of tidy, but not bad. It's definitley low-key. Not quite what someone may expect from a doctor with his own practice.
Eli still likes it. "Definitely couldn't been worse I think, and either way I believe I'm willing to give you a free pass," he says.

There was a small kitchen, the main living space, a bedroom off that, and a little balcony that looked out over the street.

Eli hasn't but it even feels as though he's been here already. That they do this all the time. But it gives him enough reason to go up to Michael and loop his arms around his waist, pulling him in a little closer. "I see one thing I really like," he jokes with a smile.

"What's that? My impeccable interior design skills?" Michael quipped, relaxing easily into Eli's embrace but making no move towards him. He really liked this, he thought; not just the teasing banter, though that was really fun, but just being here, in Eli's arms. Happy for where he was, anticipating what might be to come.

"Funny," Eli says, cupping Michael's face in his hands and kissing him. He likes that he barely needs to move to reach his mouth since they are nearly the same height. After a second he pulls back and smiles, considering Michael for a moment. It's been awhile since he's felt this way with anyone, maybe since Braxton, and it's new and scary but exciting too. "You know I met you after nearly dying on that island, but now it's hard not be happy about it..."

"I should have known then," Michael told him in a soft voice, "I kept dreaming about you, the way your skin felt when I was looking for a broken collarbone." He laughed a little, pecked at his lips. "Which is probably a little creepy, now that I think about it."
Then, because the taste of him was so strong on his lips, he angled his head and kissed him again, deeper this time and with a little more heat.

Eli allows Michael to kiss him, savoring the taste of his lips and the gentle pressure of his tongue, feeling the warmth radiating off his skin as he holds him closely. All he can think, is this is nice, this is trouble too but nice. He leans away, a chuckle bubbling up. "You did not..." he raises his eyebrows with a grin. "You had dreams about me," he teases not sure why it's funny or makes him feel even warmer to know maybe Michael liked him straight away.
no subject
"I did, even though they confused me at the time," Michael replied, smiling in response to his laughter. "They weren't much back then, just memories I'd revisit while I slept. Meeting you, checking your shoulder, pretty benign to start with. They, ah, changed a little after dinner last week."
He knew he was blushing and found he didn't really care.
no subject
“Oh they did, Now did they?” Eli smirks even wider, even though following their first date Michael definitely popped up several stray thoughts here and there. Well, more than here and there, Eli really couldn’t stop thinking about Michael, about seeing him again, and doing this, kissing him and holding him. It’s impossible for him not too, Michael’s adorable. He even blushes over telling Eli about his own dreams. He tugs Michael in a little closer with the hands on his hips.
“What did you dream about doing then? ‘Cos this could be your lucky night."
no subject
Michael felt his heart trip in his chest when Eli pulled him closer, then it started to beat in double time over his words. "In the dreams, I didn't back away or stop," he told him, leaning in towards his mouth, because it was easier when he wasn't eye to eye. "In the dreams, I kept touching you, and you'd touch me."
He lowered and kissed Eli again then, because it seemed the perfect time for it, but also hoping to cool a little of the flush to his cheeks over what he'd told him.

With a smile, Eli pressed his lips back to Michael's thinking he hopes he wouldn't pull away from him this time. Even if nothing else were to happen. Because he agrees with him, all of this just feels right. Perfect even. It feels like he want to kiss Michael the rest of the night, or maybe longer.
He lifts one hand onto the back of Michael's neck where he's bent slight forward to kiss him. "I wanna stay with you. Tonight. Is that ok?" he asks.
no subject
Michael closed his eyes, took a breath and nodded. Then he pulled back enough to look into Eli's face again, eyes searching and seeming to find something. To find just what he was looking for, maybe hoping for. "Yes. That's very, very okay," he told him with a smile. "I want that, too. I want that very much."
He pulled Eli closer, kissed him again, and started walking them backwards.
no subject
His breath feels suspended in his lungs for a few seconds until Michael nods back at him, says he wants Eli to say too. His mouth lifts into a pleased smile, just as Michael kisses him again, moving them backwards through the apartment. Eli's never been here. He doesn't know which direction Michael is taking them. He doesn't care. He just keeps his eyes shut, letting his mouth linger on Michael's for a moment, his heart speeding up in his chest as they walk.

He finds the bathroom down the hall and a towel, and he has a shower. His shower isn't as quick as it normally is, but that's because Eli keeps drifting off to thoughts of Michael and smiling distractedly at the water rushing in front of his face before he catches himself and rinses the soap off. He dries himself, dons the clothes he'd found. He really hopes Michael doesn't mind because the hoodie which has a university logo on the front is cozy and smells like him actually.
Breakfast for Eli is usually Quill, but he isn't about to wander off that far. Instead, he digs around in the kitchen until he comes across enough to quench his morning hunger pangs. By this time he's normally run a few miles and shoved down a cinnamon roll and a gourmet coffee. He settles for a banana instead. But because it's very early and he doesn't want to actually wake Michael and because the TV is actually in Michael's bedroom, he is left without much to do after that. Naturally he heads back in the bedroom, and he digs his phone out of the pants he wore last night. Sunlight is just beginning to flood into the room through the windows so he gets a good look at Michael still asleep, and he can't help himself. He climbs back on the bed sitting Indian style at the end of it and just watches Michael while eating his banana. Yes, it's a bit creepy but Michael is also adorable right now. Eli even snaps a picture of him on his phone in between bites. All and all, it's much more entertaining (and adorable obviously) than anything he would've found on the TV.

Then he heard the sound of a phone picture in the quiet of the room and he popped one eye open. "Blackmail won't work. I'm in debt up to my eyeballs."
no subject
Eli startles when Michael awakens, feeling only slightly embarassed he'd been caught snapping his picture. He smiles a little putting his phone in his lap. "Not blackmail for money..." Eli could think of other things he'd want from Michael. But he actually just wanted the picture to remember this night together. Well, now morning. All of it is worth remembering, Eli didn't want to forget what Michael looked like just now.
"I hope you don't mind. I showered..." he points out his hoodie. It's a good thing they are nearly the same in stature. So the clothes he'd found fit pretty well.
no subject
He looked over at Eli with as much of a grin as he could manage before coffee.
no subject
Eli shrugs his shoulder with a smile. “I also ate your banana,” he says, tossing aside the empty banana peel. The sleepy grin Michael gives him nearly makes him laugh, only because Eli’s been wide awake for nearly an hour. Maybe he should’ve put the coffee on.
no subject
"So. You're a banana stealer on top of it. I'm so disillusioned."
no subject
If Michael's not ashamed to traipse through his apartment naked, Eli certainly isn't shamed to watch either. Considering last night there's no need. He smiles when Michael climbs back into bed, snuggling back under the covers. "Well. There wasn't much else to steal in that kitchen," Eli says, crawling up the bed on all fours. He sits beside him, leaning over to get a look at Michael cocooned inside the comforter. "You're even cuter in the morning," he tells him.
no subject
Then he put his mouth on Eli's and kissed him deeply.
no subject
Eli only smiles, sighing a little when Michael pulls him into the kiss. His mouth is warm and minty, and it leaves Eli with a buzz in his head. It's just as amazing as last night. He leans away after but not too far, keeping his eyes on him. "Can I tell you something?" Eli mutters at him but barely waits for an answer. "I really like you..."
no subject
It was a little more than that - more than he'd ever felt in his life - but he wasn't about to scare Eli off with too much too soon. There was no need to rush anyhing; neither of them were going anywhere.
no subject
Even though he's guessed already that Michael isn't exactly pushing him to go home, it's still nice to have it confirmed. Because Eli definitely likes Michael. It's unnerving actually how much he does, how easy it is. He smiles against his mouth, pressing another kiss to his lips in response. It's unnerving but it's also nice. He pulls away with a chuckle. "Well, you were still asleep. So I had to settle for the banana in the kitchen," he says, leaning back up.
no subject
He pulled away enough to look into Eli's eyes. "And, in case it wasn't clear, I really hope this happens again."
