Michael lead the way up the stairs to his second floor apartment and dug out his keys when they approached his door. "I don't think it's all that messy, but no promises. It's the maid's year off," he joked with a smirk over his shoulder. "I dusted a few months ago, so it might not be that bad."
He opened the locks and pushed open the door, indicating that Eli should go ahead into the apartment before closing the door behind them.
After a quick look around, he sighed a little in relief. At least he'd remembered to clean up the kitchen when he'd gotten home from work so his breakfast dishes weren't still sitting there. That was, he thought, something.

Eli fiddles with Michael's hair a second longer before leaning down for another quick kiss. "Oh. I'm sure you'll be distracting. But they're fifth graders. I don't think you need to be that concerned about the bell curve," he tells him with a smile.

"I don't know. I'd hate to be responsible for the downfall of some poor kid's academic future because I was kissing the teacher's neck while he was supposed to be grading," Michael returned, trying for a contrite expression but there was too much smirk in it to be completely convincing.
