Michael lead the way up the stairs to his second floor apartment and dug out his keys when they approached his door. "I don't think it's all that messy, but no promises. It's the maid's year off," he joked with a smirk over his shoulder. "I dusted a few months ago, so it might not be that bad."

He opened the locks and pushed open the door, indicating that Eli should go ahead into the apartment before closing the door behind them.

After a quick look around, he sighed a little in relief. At least he'd remembered to clean up the kitchen when he'd gotten home from work so his breakfast dishes weren't still sitting there. That was, he thought, something.

For a moment, Michael had a mental image of being awakened by Eli's kisses, his hands, and his body gave a delighted little shiver. "On the off chance this happens again, you should probably know that even if I don't naturally wake up early, I'm not grumpy if someone wakes me up."

He pulled away enough to look into Eli's eyes. "And, in case it wasn't clear, I really hope this happens again."

“Oh really?” Eli says, eyebrows raised, grinning back at him. “I’ll keep that in mind. For next time.” Because they were definitely going to do this again. And many times after that too as far as Eli is concerned. He’d truly meant what he said. He really likes Michael, and last night had been the best date he’s had in years. Possibly ever. No, definitely ever. It just felt right. At the thought, he puts his hand at Michael’s face, petting the poor guy’s extreme bedhead, with a smile. “So. What’re you doing today?” he asks.

"No real plans," Michael told him, enjoying the little touches as much as the kisses, "it's my day off, or as much of one as I ever get, but I'm not on call or anything. How about you? Garden work today?"

"No. Not today. But I may drown myself in grading papers later on since someone kept me out all night yesterday," he says with a smile. "It's very exciting if you wanna come watch." He nearly doesn't since they spent all night together yesterday but if Michael's off he would enjoy the company.

"It sounds it," Michael replied, "but are you sure I wouldn't be distracting? I'd hate to be responsible for blowing the bell curve for some deserving student because their teacher wasn't paying full attention as he worked."

To be dead honest, he wouldn't mind watching Eli fold clothes or do pretty much anything. Just being with him he felt...normal in a way he never had been before. Freer. More what he thought normal people must be like.

Eli fiddles with Michael's hair a second longer before leaning down for another quick kiss. "Oh. I'm sure you'll be distracting. But they're fifth graders. I don't think you need to be that concerned about the bell curve," he tells him with a smile.

"I don't know. I'd hate to be responsible for the downfall of some poor kid's academic future because I was kissing the teacher's neck while he was supposed to be grading," Michael returned, trying for a contrite expression but there was too much smirk in it to be completely convincing.
